The process
SOS Children’s Villages UK came to us with a bold ambition to overhaul their website into a powerful digital hub that reflects their global mission and supports their future growth. Starting with a immersion day at their head office including workshop and 1:2:1s we mapped out a new site structure, completed UX audits, and worked collaboratively to design user journeys that work for everyone – from donors and supporters to young people looking for help. We transitioned their content management system to a modern block editor, making it easier for non-technical staff to update content. Seamless integration with Salesforce and Marketing Cloud was a key focus, ensuring the site would allow the team to access smarter comms and fundraising. Accessibility, SEO, and future pkans of the charity were considered throughout the process.
The outcome
The new SOS Children’s Villages UK website is a complete transformation. The new site is modern, accessible and designed with purpose. It’s built to make life easier for internal teams, with a CMS that is intuitive and easy to use, and a team fully trained in how to use it. For supporters and visitors, the site now offers intuitive navigation, simple donation journeys, and tells SOS’ story and helps to bring the charity’s mission to life. From a technical point of view, the site integrates with Salesforce and a new donation platform. Accessibility has taken a big leap forward, meeting WCAG 2.1 AA standards wherever possible. And importantly, the site is built to grow and develop with the charity to ensure it can change with the charity’s work.
The new site gives SOS Children’s Villages the digital foundation they need to continue to support children and young people for years to come.
