The process

Student Minds’ brand hadn’t evolved since 2018 and didn’t reflect the bold, student-led voice at the heart of their work. Accessibility issues, inconsistent sub-brands and outdated styling made it hard to connect with audiences and deliver a cohesive message across platforms, especially in a rapidly changing digital space.

We kicked things off with in-depth research and a series of workshops to understand how the brand was currently perceived and where it needed to go. We worked collaboratively with the Student Minds team, supporters and students to shape a new brand identity rooted in accessibility, inclusivity and bold storytelling.

Alongside a WCAG-compliant colour palette and accessible typography, we created a full suite of assets and templates, from logos to presentations, to social content. We also ensured the refreshed brand could be implemented smoothly across platforms, including a joined-up look and feel across the website and Student Minds Hub.

The outcome

The final brand reflects the clarity, ambition and warmth of Student Minds’ mission. With a consistent identity running through all channels and a simplified sub-brand structure, the charity can now communicate more confidently and effectively.

The new design is accessible, modern and flexible, designed to meet students where they are, and make engagement and implementation easier for internal teams too.

The refreshed brand now feels like it belongs to the community it serves and gives Student Minds a platform from which to engage and connect with the the Students it represents and to represent their best interests within the student mental health space.
