Good communication can make or break any project. Without it, things get missed, feedback gets muddled, and frustration builds on both sides.
That’s why at Northern Bear, we take communication seriously. Whether we’re working on a new website, branding project, or fundraising campaign, keeping everyone in the loop is key to delivering great results.
Choosing the right tools
Every project is different, so we use a mix of tools to keep things running smoothly:
- Monday.com – Keeps everything organised so no one’s guessing what’s next.
- Slack – Perfect for quick updates and keeping things moving.
- Zoom, Microsoft Teams & Google Meet – Great for face-to-face discussions.
- Email – Best for when things need a clear record.
Keeping clients in the loop (without overwhelming them)
Most of our clients are charities and nonprofits, which means they already have a lot on their plate. We make sure they stay updated without drowning in emails. Most weeks, that might be a quick 15-minute check-in, while others might need a longer conversation followed by a clear action plan. It’s all about making communication work for them.
Managing feedback effectively
Nothing slows a project down like unclear or late feedback. To keep things moving, we use:
- Annotated design tools like Pastel – So clients can leave comments directly on designs.
- A shared Dropbox folder – For collecting content, documents, and inspiration.
- Clear deadlines – To avoid last-minute stress and keep everything on track.
Hear it from our clients
Northern Bear were definitely the easiest creative agency I’ve worked with in the three years I’ve been in my current role – always on standby to talk through the concepts, took direction well at every round of amends and were super friendly and easy to communicate with throughout.
