Teckels came to us wanting a rebrand to give them more stand-out in a crowded animal charity market. They wanted an identity which was bold, and friendly and championed their small, un-corporate personality and mission to care for the cats and dogs that everyone else had given up on.
After a workshop with the Teckels team, we created three concepts which played with different ways to visually express their personality traits.
Playful, bright colours and a soft signature style wordmark logo were contrasted and rough textured edges on illustrated elements.
The paw print icon from the original branding was updated and carried through into the new brand. This time with a ‘heart’ shape was incorporated to convey the unwavering love Teckels show even the most badly behaved and challenging dogs and cats.
We then used the heart shape in all of the other icons we created to carry the story through.
We created a simple style guide for the team to use internally along with a suite of assets and icons for them to use, whilst continuing to support the team with larger print projects and begin the redesign of their website.
The rebrand allowed Teckels to review their missions and values and they now have a brand which is reflective of who they really are and feels ownable to them.
Compared to their old brand there is far more depth, they have a suite of assets to use for creative social media posts for example and allows the brand to be used consistently across all communications.
